Legal
Privacy policy
What we do with your data — in plain English. Short version: very little, and only to answer you.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Héctor Miguel Díaz Alejo Guerrero (self-employed), NIF 49140782V, Calle Isabel Carrillo 4, 3ªD, 30800 Lorca (Murcia), Spain. Email: learn@spanishwithhector.com.
2. What data we collect and why
Contact form
If you write to us through the contact form we collect your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply to you. Legal basis: your consent (you send the form voluntarily) and, for follow-up questions about lessons, the steps prior to a contract at your request. We keep the messages for as long as the conversation is active and up to 12 months afterwards, unless you become a student.
Technical data
Like any website, our server records technical logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, date and time) for security and to keep the site working. Legal basis: legitimate interest in the security of the service. Logs are kept for a short, limited period.
Cookies
This website only uses essential cookies. See the cookies policy.
3. Bookings and payments
Lessons are booked and paid in an external booking system (currently Breely). When you book, you give your data directly to that provider under its own privacy policy; this website does not store your booking or payment details. Héctor receives the booking information (name, email, lesson booked) in order to teach the lesson.
4. Newsletter and podcast
The newsletter and premium content are hosted on Substack. If you subscribe, your data is processed by Substack under its own policy. The podcast is distributed through Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other platforms, each with their own terms.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing. Your data may be processed by our technical providers as data processors: hosting (Hostinger, servers in the European Union) and email delivery. We do not transfer your data outside the EU except through the third-party services you choose to use (booking system, Substack, podcast platforms), which have their own safeguards.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Just email learn@spanishwithhector.com. You can also withdraw your consent at any time. If you think we are not handling your data properly, you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).
7. Minors
This website is not aimed at children under 14. If you are under 14 and want to take lessons, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us.
8. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the site or in the law. The current version is always available on this page.
